Deep tissue massage to a deep-sea sound track. There is more than a metaphorical connection between hauling rope and kneading on muscles which brought us to the amazing catalogue of seamen's work songs recorded in the 50's and 60's. Untying knots in your back, releasing tension and stress required music that was rigorous and invigorating, a voyaging sound track of adventure and fun mixing contemporary musicians and arrangements into the concept of Walking with Ghosts.

"The petrel recordings are from birds seldom heard by anyone but mariners. The Sound Approach recordist spent a year collecting them. He was shipwrecked in the process but the recordings were safely zipped into waterproofs." - Mark Constantine

Walking With Ghosts are: Richard Evans (guitar, bass, mandolin, whisle, flute, keyboards, vocals), Simon Emmerson (guitars, cittern), Ben Murray (vocals, accordian, piano), Jackie Oates (vocals, fiddle, viola), Andy Gangadeen (drums, tracks 2 and 5), Ged Lynch (drums tracks 7, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16).
